Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady, has conveyed her assurance to Nigerians, affirming that “the Federal Government is fully committed to improving the citizens’ lives amidst the current challenges.”
She highlighted the proactive efforts of the Bola Tinubu administration, working tirelessly “to address the nation’s challenges, promising a brighter future and a new lease of life for the Nigerian people.”
Senator Tinubu appealed to the populace to “remain resilient and support the current administration with prayers, ensuring the successful implementation of its policies and programs aimed at elevating Nigeria to greater heights.”
During her visit to Kano to pay respect to Emir Aminu Ado Bayero and to inaugurate projects at the Kano campus of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), the First Lady reiterated these commitments.
Emir Ado Bayero, expressing his confidence in the First Lady’s influence, mentioned, “Your means of communication with the government is the most effective way to relay the true state of affairs in the country to the President.”
He also brought up concerns about the worsening hunger and insecurity, acknowledging that these issues predated the current administration but urging more decisive action. Regarding the relocation of CBN and FAAN departments to Lagos, the Emir sought clarity and transparency from the government, stating, “The government should clearly communicate its intentions and engage in more public enlightenment on this issue.”
Senator Tinubu expressed her gratitude for the Emir’s warm welcome and assured him of delivering his message to the President.
In the company of notable figures, the First Lady then proceeded to MAAUN, where she inaugurated the School of Law building named in her honor. She praised the university’s facilities and the efforts of Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo in advancing education in Nigeria.
Highlighting the importance of education, Mrs. Tinubu announced a N50 million endowment fund for the university’s top law graduates, reflecting on her own experience during her National Youth Service in Kano.
After the ceremony, she toured the newly inaugurated School of Law and the Murtala Ramat Mohammed Library, underscoring her commitment to supporting youth education as a cornerstone for liberation.
