Actress Mary Remmy Njoku has voiced her opinion that marriage should not be seen as an accomplishment.

In a message shared on her Instagram story, Mary criticized the notion held by some women that marriage is a milestone and the undue pressure they exert on others to marry.

Remmy Njoku emphasized that the true achievement lies not in marriage itself, but in finding a suitable partner.

She advocated for allowing individuals the freedom to find the right partner at their own pace, without societal pressure to marry.

Her message read: “Dear married women, stop it! Marriage itself isn’t the goal. The goal is finding the right person to share your life with. Let people make this significant choice without pressure. They deserve to find genuine partners without the hassle. Seriously!

“More than half of couples only pretend to be happy to meet social expectations. Remember Ifeoma? Pushed into a bad marriage, now she’s dealing with abuse and infidelity, while still judging single women online.

“Please, let’s focus on more important issues like the economy and give those who are single the space to breathe and make their own choices.”
