As the AFCON 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire heats up, Nigeria has risen as the leading favorite following the exits of Senegal and Morocco. According to predictions from the Opta supercomputer, Nigeria has a 28.8% chance of winning the trophy, gearing up for a riveting quarterfinal match against Angola this Friday.

The Super Eagles have showcased exceptional form, achieving full points in their matches without allowing any goals since a starting draw with Equatorial Guinea, positioning them at the pinnacle of the competition.

Mali is hot on their heels as the second most favored team with a 14.7% chance, while the host nation, Ivory Coast, is in third place with a 13.5% chance of taking the title. The forecasts also identify DR Congo and Cape Verde as the fourth and fifth favorites, respectively, with South Africa coming in sixth after their victory over Morocco in the round of 16.
