In the final round of 16 match on Tuesday, Mali defeated Burkina Faso 2-1, earning a spot in the quarter-finals to face hosts Cote d’Ivoire.
South Africa overcame Morocco with a 2-0 win and will now confront Cape Verde in their quarter-final match.
