At the Web Summit Qatar, as reported by Calciomercato.com, former midfielder John Obi Mikel shared his thoughts on Victor Osimhen’s potential move. “Victor wants to come to Chelsea,” Mikel stated, hinting at a strong interest from the Napoli star to join the Blues in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old Nigerian forward, Osimhen, whose future at Napoli is the subject of much speculation after he revealed he has ‘already decided’ his next move, is on the radar of several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United, following a new contract signed in December with a release clause valued between €120-130 million.
Mikel highlighted the connection between Osimhen and Chelsea, suggesting, “There is genuine interest on both sides.” He added, “Obviously, he wants to follow in my footsteps and the Nigerian players who played for Chelsea, such as Victor Moses, Celestine Babayaro…”
Discussing the competition for Osimhen’s signature, Mikel acknowledged, “He also has many clubs interested in him, such as PSG, Manchester United, but I am pushing, sending him messages, trying to make sure that there is only one club in his mind: the Blues!”
