People in Kaduna stopped a BUA company truck that was carrying food and took boxes of noodles from it.

On Friday, people living in Zaria, Kaduna State, took many boxes of noodles from a truck full of food belonging to the BUA company. Someone from the town said it happened in the Dogarawa area of Zaria. The incident started when some young people blocked the truck, claiming that the company was raising prices too much without thinking about how ordinary people could afford them. This led many people to take the chance to grab boxes of noodles from the back of the truck.

The spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police, Mohammad Jalagie, did not answer calls or texts asking for his comment on the situation. There were also earlier reports about prisoners protesting at a Correctional Centre in Jos, Plateau State, because they were told their food portions would be reduced starting from Friday. The protest began right after the inmates were informed about the cut in their food portions.
