Scholarship Details:
For 2024, the Korean government will welcome 2,200 international students under the Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate degree programs. Candidates can apply through either the Embassy Track or University Track. The program includes 1 year of Korean language training followed by a 2-year Master’s program or a 3-year Doctoral program.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must:
- Be citizens of countries designated by NIIED and invited to participate in the GKS program.
- Have a CGPA from their last degree that meets one of the following: at least 80% on a 100-point scale, in the top 20% of their class, or a CGPA equivalent to or above certain thresholds on different scales.
- Be under 40 years of age (born after September 1, 1984).
- Be in good health both mentally and physically to stay in Korea for the entire program duration.
Scholarship Benefits:

- Free tuition (NIIED covers up to 5 million KRW; universities cover any excess and admission fees)
- Stipends for the Korean language program (14,100,000 KRW/year), Graduate Degree program (15,700,000 KRW/year), and Research Program (19,800,000 KRW/year).
