Marc Pacifico, the esteemed president of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, has forecasted, “breast reductions will be the hottest cosmetic procedure of 2024,” with a preference for “shape over size.”
The allure of double-D breasts appears to have diminished among younger women, despite a surge in augmentation demands from Gen Z clients in the previous year.
One woman shared her regrets about undergoing breast augmentation, wishing she had “never got them done.” This sentiment resonates with many others who now reflect critically on their impulsive decisions.
Reflecting on the prevailing beauty standards, she remarked, “The beauty trend was all about having the Kardashian look — big boobs and a big butt. I wish I would have waited and thought about whether surgery was something I really wanted to do, or if I just thought I needed a certain look.”
A significant number of women have expressed their regrets about plastic surgery, with some sharing stories of opting for removal, indicative of a broader shift away from aesthetic enhancements. This trend is underscored by celebrities such as Tori Spelling, Blac Chyna, and Chrissy Teigen, who have decided to remove their implants.
Pacifico anticipates this trend “will continue to soar in 2024,” with the main concerns being discomfort from heavy implants or the desire for breast restoration post-pregnancy, moving away from the “Love Island type” of appearance.
He further predicts an uptick in combined face and neck lift procedures, responding to social media critiques of individuals who underwent facelifts but neglected the neck area.
Pacifico emphasized, “Without a good, harmonious improvement in someone’s neck, a facelift doesn’t look as good as it could or as natural as it could. If you haven’t got a good neck, and you’ve got a good face, we can spot immediately that something’s not quite right.”
He advocates for cosmetic surgery to be imperceptible, aiming for patients to appear “very natural, very fresh.”
