Minister of Youth Development Jamila Ibrahim has introduced several upcoming initiatives from the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.
Titled ‘A New Era of Youth Empowerment: My Commitment to Transformative Initiatives,’ the minister emphasized her dedication to boosting the empowerment of Nigerian youth since her tenure began.
Dr. Ibrahim highlighted her efforts to establish a solid foundation for impactful strategies aimed at benefiting Nigerian youth and assured them of the positive outcomes of these initiatives soon.
Among the forthcoming programs she mentioned are The NextGen Bank, set to launch in April; Youth Villages, in collaboration with Niger, Katsina, and Ebonyi states; a Revamped National Youth Investment Fund; reforms in the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC); Skills Programs for Non-graduates and At-risk Youths; and the Young Leaders’ Institute.
Additionally, the minister revealed plans for a Proposal on a Mandatory 30 percent youth quota in government appointments.
She stated, “Upon entering my position, my efforts have been geared towards establishing a solid groundwork for strategies that will significantly benefit Nigerian youth. As the Chief Responsibility Officer, it’s my duty to fulfill President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing commitment to generating lasting and sustainable opportunities for Nigerian Youths.
“This initial phase, crucial yet subtle, has involved coordinating with key stakeholders both within and beyond the government to ensure the fruition of the President’s vision. These initiatives are just a preview of what is to come during my tenure, with immediate, practical plans soon to be launched.
“My dedication to the youth of Nigeria is steadfast. My role is to serve, guide, and realize the vision of a promising future for our youth. I assure you, your voices are acknowledged, and your concerns are addressed. Together, we will navigate this path of transformation and achievement.”
